I like reading about characters who are already close (good friends, lovers, whatever) rather than following people from the first meeting up to getting together
I'm indifferent on this front in the canon content, but when it comes to fic there's a point where after like, a couple months of fics where they *get together*, I mostly want fic where they're established. Funny how that goes!
Logan/Veronica is a good example of a ship where I really fell for them when they started comforting each other.
