I. I've had two exams so far. The first one went okay, I think. But today's was terrible. I was hoping I wouldn't have resits this year but it doesn't look like it'll happen :(. The course is just really not my thing (it's about varieties of English and SO boring), and the exam was hellish. He asked ridiculous questions and just... I tried to write lots of stuff down, but most of the time I didn't even know what was meant by a question so I'm not very hopeful here.

My third and last exam is in a week. It's Modernism, which is luckily a lot more interesting, but I have to do a lot of reading (mostly academic papers, yuk). I'm starting tomorrow because today I just want to SLEEP.

III. Buffy meme: Least Favourite Male Character

Andrew. He annoys me. I know he's supposed to be kind of annoying, but I'm guessing in an endearing way or something? I don't know, but it doesn't work for me. I didn't like the geek trio as a whole when they were supposed to be funny with a few exceptions like the James Bond discussion (I did like it when they were scary, and I didn't mind them as sort-of villans). And Andrew was basically just another reason that season 7 was disappointing.

I. I finished with my rewatch of Veronica Mars season 1 yesterday.

Cut for spoilers, just in case. Also kind of slightly spoilerish for the S2 finale )
II. Buffy meme Day 6: Favourite Male character

Pretty surprising, probably, but:Oz.

Mostly because all the other male characters went through a period where I vehemently disliked them, or was disappointed in the writing for them. For instance, I love Giles, but I am massively disappointed in him on several occasions. And while I love Spike very much, I also think the way his character was developed was so messy and illogical that I am not naming him my favourite character just out of spite.

Oz, on the other hand, didn't really stick around for long enough to disappoint me (though the Veruca storyline wasn't my favourite). He was always funny and cool, he and Willow were amazingly sweet, and he often seemed like the sanest person in the bunch. And when he left I cried buckets :(.

II. Buffy meme Day 5: Least Favourite Female character:

I pretty much like all recurring characters on this show (even though I sometimes hate their development or some of their characterization, I still always loved them at some point). So I'll go with the completely unsurprising answer of Kennedy. Which sort of feels like a cheat of an answer because I don't care enough about her or the episodes she's in to really have an opinion. But because she is the only female character I feel this way about, Kennedy it is!

III. I'm rewatching Veronica Mars during my breaks! It's been a long time since I watched the episodes, which means I've forgotten most of the weekly plots so it feels pretty new. I'm glad to see that both Veronica and Logan are just as great as I remember them. ♥ Veronica Mars is still my hero.

I am now at the point in the show where I originally went from 'deputy Leo is cute. They should date' to 'OMG Logan/Veronica IT'S TRUE LOVE'. Or something. XD But seriously, Leo smiled too much anyway. It's kind of creepy.

I. I'm doing so much better with the posting lately! This clearly means I should be studying. Which is going about as well as always (read: reading fic and catching up on tv all day long).

II. Caught up on Leverage. I forgot how much I LOVE those characters ♥. And Goran Visnjic! I used to have such a crush on him on ER. And he's still got it! I thought he was great in this.

III. Doctor Who Christmas Special:

IV. Buffy meme: Day Four: Favourite female character

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!

I. I celebrated last night. It was fun. I got all dressed up and had a nice dinner, we watched i> Meet me in Saint-Louis (which is THE Christmas movie for me, I've loved it for as long as I can remember).

And I got PRESENTS :D A new bag, and the dvd's of Sherlock (wasn't expecting that, but a great surprise!), and FIREFLY! I can't tell you how happy I am :D Now I'll get to listen to the dvd commentaries like the geek that I am :DD

And while we're kind of on the subject: Meme! (Do you know that a year ago, I'd only seen Dr. Horrible? 2010 will go down in my personal history as "the Whedon year")

II. Day three: Your favourite song used in an episode

Goodbye to you by Michelle Branch, as seen in the final montage in Tabula Rasa (6x08). Youtube disappoints me by not having a clip of this.

Anyway, BtVS has a lot of songs, most of them crappy, and I remember none of them. Except for this one, because while it is indeed cheesy, it works. We've just seen a pretty hilarious episode. And now we are seeing some of the most heartbreaking moments of the show: Giles is leaving and Tara is moving out. It's one of m favourite parts ever on this show. And it just made me cry, okay. A LOT. And a lot of that is down to the choice of song. (and Allyson Hannigan's face. Who can look at her crying and not start? HONESTLY)

And this scene also has the prettiest Spike/Buffy kiss ever. Just as a sidenote ;).

III.ETA: And in an effort to represent ALL Whedon shows IN ONE POST (except Dollhouse, cause I haven't actually seen that yet): I've just finished Shell on Angel. And can I just say that for a show that I don't like that much, it sure manages to make me cry a LOT .
A Hole in the World was SO SAD omg. And this one less so, but I still cried. Dammit. (Not to mention You're Welcome a while back. That one may have been even worse.)

Day 2: Favourite Episode

I actually made a list of my top 10 Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes for this. There's a picspam behind the cut, and a lot of rambling about why I love what I love. It's been a work in progress and I'm happy to finally post it.

But let's start with the honourable mention:

Tabula Rasa (6x08)

It just fell out of the top ten, but it was still brilliant so it deserves to be mentioned.

Things I love:

- Mostly, I love how this episode goes from hilarious to heartbreaking in seconds. The funny is REALLY funny, and the sad is cry-your-eyes-out sad.

- That song.

- That kiss.

- Anya and Giles. And her fear of bunnies.

SO not dial-up friendly! )

I. Misfits is still very much my show of the moment. These last two episodes have been amazing and have made me move to a higher level of fannishness. Where at first I was just enjoying a funny, well-written, original show, I am now watching the episodes asap, getting attached, and am pretty much actively shipping. If you've seen these last episodes, I think it's pretty clear who I'm shipping. THEY ARE SO PRETTY TOGETHER.
The next step would be reading fic and stuff, but as long as the story is going on I don't feel the need. Unless, of course, they manage to mess it up! Butso far, the writing has been amazing, so I do trust them.

II. I have, at this point, been awake for almost 36 hours straight. I was an extra on a commercial that was being filmed in Antwerp all last night, so no sleep for me. It's an interesting experience - I think I'll probably be more tired tomorrow than I am right now - though I do feel that my body is sort of asking for a rest.

III. I'm FINALLY getting to that 30 day Buffy meme. I hope this means I'll post more often.

Day 1: Favorite Season

That would be Season 5. It took me a long time to really get into the show (of course I did have high expectations and I watched them one after the other). By Season 4 I was pretty much hooked, and I only got more so throughout S5. Just in time to be completely wrecked by S6 of course. :/

I just enjoyed the epiodes in S5 the most, as well as the overall theme of family they had going on. It has, imo, the best regular cast (Anya, Tara, Spike, Dawn,...). Glory is a pretty decent villan, as well. It has some of my favourite episodes (looking at my top 10 eps which I plan to post for Day2, three of them are from S5. That's the most for 1 season).
I like Dawn, I like Spike-who-is-in-love-with-Buffy (I'll probably go into my shipping ideas another day?), and I think the final episode was a great way to end not only the season and the arc but the whole show.

other days )
