Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure show

Well, it's over now, but until last week I loved to watch Over the Rainbow. It was on after Doctor Who, and it is a talent hunt to find someone to play Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber's'The Wizard of Oz'. I don't watch any other talent shows, but this one is different. They don't mock people who do terrible auditions, the judges are pretty nice, and there is hardly any focus on the candidates' personal lives. All the girls are really good, as well. They can all sing and if any of them is a bitch, we don't see it.

Idk, I just really like it. It's so bright and colourful and they sing a lot of showtunes as well as pop music,...
I hope they do one of these next year. I saw the last one as well, it's just really fun. ;)

This is the girl that won (and I was totally rooting for her so yay!):

Yay Over the Rainbow! I do not know why I watched that show, it was terrible and cheesy, but I LOVED it. :) Much better than the Nancy one last time (though not quite as good as Any Dream Will Do because, well, pretty boys! :D) and just so HAPPY. I was rooting for Steph all the way, but when she went I wanted Danielle to win so yayyy! Not that I think I will go and see it because I am not the greatest fan of the Wizard of Oz, but still. Yay for Danielle!

I never saw Any Dream Will Do, but I did like the Nancy one. Probably because I had nothing to compare it to, though.

I was rooting for Lauren at first, but I moved to Danielle pretty early on, so I was very happy she won!
I know it is so terribly cheesy but they wear pretty dresses and do those fun songs and it just makes me really happy :)

I used to watch one of the older ones, Any Dream Will Do, and loved it so much! I haven't been able to get into it since then though :(

I watched I'd Do Anything, the last one. I wasn't really planning on watching it again, but I caught the first one and got sucked in ;)

Ha, I watched the last episode of that since it was after Doctor Who - though I missed who won. :D I remember that I liked both the remaining girls, and can't actually remember which one was Danielle. :p She's the non-redhead, judging by the still from that clip? The fun one?

Yeah, that's the one. She was much better than the other one, imo. I got quite carried away with the whole thing :P

From what I saw in that last episode, the other one was the better singer, but Danielle was by far the most fun of the three performance-wise.

Also, what are you doing up at this hour? *g*

Danielle was by far the best actress and performer. The other one (Sophie) had more people voting because she got bad comments all the time :P

I have an exam at 9 o'clock! And I always leave home early to be sure I get there on time :) Have you had any exams yet? xD

[identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com 2010-05-31 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, good luck with your exam! :D

(I was supposed to have Intertextualiteit last Wednesday but didn't go because I knew there was no way I was going to succeed. That'll teach me to start preparing on time for the resit. D: I have my next exam tomorrow (which I only just realised - I thought it was on Wednesday, gah! *knuckles down*). And then Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Um, yay? ;p)

Thanks! Its film style, it should be easy.

Wow, that looks like a truly terrible schedule... I have a week for Intertekstualiteit, so that should be all right.

Good luck tomorrow then! xD

Don't worry, in the Days of Merlin I watched Dancing with the Stars because it came before and I was so panick-stricken about missing it I usually confiscated the TV about an hour beforehand. ^^

Yeah, it's one of those things where you think it's silly, then catch an episode, and then find yourself in front of the tv cheering on your favourites every week. I got really involved in this :P Also, I love musicals so this was perfect ;)
