God I miss memes

I found this meme through someone here like a month ago, copied the list, and now I don't know where it's from so I can credit! SO if you know whose this is, lmk
I haven't been on here, but sometimes when I'm bored at work I like filling out memes. So I'm gonna use this year-long meme on a monthly basis - I answer questions in a doc when I feel like it, and then once a month I post them. If anyone reads these, that's fine. If no one does, it's mostly for me anyway.

Jan 1 What is one thing you’d like to accomplish in 2020?
I want to find a partner and have a relationship, honestly. That’s intimidatingly huge and feels almost wrong to put out into the universe, but yeah. I've always been fine alone, but last year that started to change.

2 What would be the first sentence of your autobiography?
The first thing I remember from childhood is being five years old and sitting on the couch in our old living room, while my mother tells me my father has just died in hospital, and simultaneously hearing my grandmother wail in the kitchen as my grandfather tells her the same news.
The older I get, the more I think this explains a lot about me.

3 For every day of 2020, you will be required to wear a t-shirt with the same one word on it. What word will you choose?
This is a dumb question and I’m not answering it.

4 What one thing are you looking forward to in 2020?
My trip to Scotland!

5 What’s your favorite way to spend a Sunday morning?
Under a blanket with a book or an episode of CR and a cup of tea

6 Tell about an “Aha!” moment you’ve had.
When, earlier this year, I read an article about how perfectionism developed in childhood affects your life, which linked it to literally every issue I have.

7 In the U.S., each state has a “state flower.” If you’re in the U.S., what is your state flower? If you live elsewhere, does your region or country have flower that represents it? (Post a picture?)
I googled this and I’m still not sure if Belgium has an official national flower, but the poppy seems to come closest.

8 Would you rather live in a deep-sea station or a space station?
Space!

9 What’s your favorite “comfort food” when you’re feeling down or unwell?
ALL THE CARBS. Any kind of pasta or potato-based dish tbh. Chicken soup when I’m actually sick.

10 What was the last film you saw at a theatre/cinema?
Knives Out by the time I'm posting this it's 1917

11 Have you ever been asked for your telephone number and you didn't want to give it? What did you do?
I just...don’t give it? Tell them to email instead, I guess?

12 Have you ever had a “crush” on a fictional character?
Lol. Of course! Not in a while though, the last one was probably Captain Flint.

13 What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Hawaii (i know) and the local ‘speciale’ which is green peppers and ground beef

14 Who was your very first best friend? Are you still in contact or communication with them?
I’ll call her S. We are not in touch anymore. We were BFFs when we were in primary school together but drifted apart in high school, eventually she changed schools. We met up for drinks once or twice after that, the last time was when we were maybe 18/19, so a decade ago. We are facebook friends, which is how I know she had a daughter a year or two ago and is pregnant with a son now, but that’s it.

15 If you could pick a new first name, what would you choose?
I love my first name! Would never change it.

16 What is your favorite board game?
Trivial Pursuit

17 What self-care things do you find helpful to ground yourself or “talk yourself down from the ledge” when you’re overwhelmed by your feelings or by stress?
Depends on the kind of ledge. If I’m overwhelmed and panicking or emotional and anxious and I need a safe space: hot bath, murder mysteries, wine, Critical Role, sleep. If I’m sad and getting depressed; movies, books, friends, sunshine, exercise, work.

18 What is the most extreme weather you have ever experienced?
Nothing very extreme, I think. I know there was a time we were in London and there was so much wind that we almost blew onto the road when we were waiting to cross. I was in Prague once when there was a snowstorm but it only lasted for a little while.

19 Do you operate out of any particular faith system that informs your actions? Do you intentionally NOT have a faith system, and if so, what beliefs or ideas inform your actions?
I don’t think about faith systems at all. I’m fascinated by people who are religious but I’ve never considered that in any way. I try to be kind, I suppose. I try to fight against my cynical impulses.‘There is some good in this world, and it is worth fighting for’. And also, ‘if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do’.

20 When you go to a fancy coffee shop, what’s your go-to order?
I usually just get a cappuccino, or at Starbucks I get a caramel macchiato

21 What genre of books is your usual favorite when you read for pleasure?
Character-driven fantasy and oldfashioned murder mysteries.

22 Where is one place you wouldn’t ever want to be caught dead?
Jumping out of an airplane (idk I can't think of anything!)

23 How would someone who genuinely likes and admires you describe you?
Oh boy. Interesting, weird in a good way, smart, stylish.

24 How would someone who doesn’t really like you describe you?
Boring, quiet, cowardly, insecure.

25 If you had to teach a one-hour class with absolutely no prep time, what subject could you competently pull off?
Introduction to Critical Role, lol. Also film history, probably. Or my bachelor’s thesis subject; unreliable narration in Golden Age detective fiction.

26 What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you while out for a meal at a restaurant?
I don’t think anything has happened to me personally, unless I’ve blocked it out. Other people have had embarrassing experiences in my company though; my mum got sick at a restaurant in Italy once and threw up on the table, and an ambulance had to be called. And a friend got a whole tray of sodas spilled over her white shirt once in England.

27 What aphorism or saying is helpful for you right now?
Not a saying and not to be a total cliché, but: Ring the bells that still can ring / forget your perfect offering / there is a crack, a crack in everything / that’s how the light gets in

28 What’s your favorite meme? (Post it!)
I don’t really enjoy memes, lol

29 What is your skin care regimen?
I wouldn’t call it a regimen, but: I use Rituals face wash and toner in the mornings unlessI’m running late for work, in which case I don’t use anything. If I’m wearing make-up (most days) I use Maybelline BB cream with SPF, otherwise Rituals moisterising day cream. In the evenings, I use night cream, atm it’s a local drugstore brand. Occasionally I use a face mask, I used to do a clay mask but it clogged my drains so now I use Nivea peel masks.

30 What song are you listening to a lot right now? (Post a link?)
Atm Mind over Matter by Anthony Ramos because of the clip. Also on a Sondheim kick because of Marriage Story

31 What superpower best suits your personality?
Invisibility
