I don't know The Snake Pit! It sounds interesting and I could use it, I think. I'll try to find it. I think in Spellbound it's mainly the male character who has psychological issues, but it's definitely one of the most prolific movies of the era when it comes to the Freud theme etc so I'll probably use it somehow.
Yeah, I can understand shipping Damon/Elena on that level because they do have chemistry and if I ignore my disgust with Damon's story arc (which I have to do while I'm watching the show or I would just never stop raging all over the place) I do enjoy their interactions a lot. I sometimes really enjoy Damon, and sometimes not at all - maybe it depends on who's writing him? I'm not sure. I think the trick is not to have him angst too much. If he's being snarky it's okay.
