ETA: Lol Pottermore. That was anti-climatic. I was at least expecting the encyclopedia, come on JK. :P
EXAMS ARE OVER WHOOOOOOOO!
This exam period was hellish, tbqh. I actually managed to study fairly well (for me, anyway) but I didn't have enough time anyway. I think I failed at least two courses, and another two are hit-or-miss. But the last three went pretty well so I ended on a high.
But now I'm free. I have been looking forward to the summer holidays so much these last few months. And so far (two days) it's going great. Tonight I'm gonna go see
Midnight in Paris because MODERNISTS IN PARIS are my favourite period. I've tried to avoid clips and things because I hate seeing half the movie before I get there, but apparently Zelda and Scott are perfect and Hemingway is hilarious, and what more do I need, really :P. I'm usually a bit meh about Woody Allen - I've never really loved one of his movies - so far I've seen Annie Hall, Match Point and Cassandra's Dream. I think that's all? Anyway, none of them blew me away and Cassandra's Dream was just bad. But this one will have to be REALLY bad for me to dislike it. Also, Adrien Brody as Dali? Come on!
I've also been looking forward to being able to read a lot this summer. My list is daunting, but that's kind of fun. Tomorrow I'll try to find
Game of Thrones in Antwerp, and if it fails I'll postpone that until after London. I'm going to start on
The Crimson Petal and the White because female-centric Victorian-era books are my favourite genre. After that I might try Neil Gaiman, maybe some more Murakami because it has been too long, and I have a bunch of historical fiction-recs I want to try. AND I'll probably leave the movie tonight wanting to read stuff by and about modernists so I have some of that ready too.
Other things I will be doing this summer: Second week of July I'm going to London for
Much Ado about Nothing!!! SO EXCITED. I'm going with my mum and we're staying five days so we'll probabaly fit in a day in Oxford, which I'm realy looking forward to because I feel like last time (when I was 13) I didn't really appreciate it as much as I will now.
I'm doing this Summer Film College thing the last week of July, which is a whole week of watching movies and going to lectures about movies in a cinema, every day all day. Last time it was in Bruges, which made it even more great. This time it's in Antwerp which is a bit diappointing because I see enough of Antwerp, thanks. But it'll still be interesting.
In August, I'll have resits - at least two, probably three or four. I'm also going to a German theme park for a day - not my own choice because we...have theme parks is Belgium? But my best friend reall wanted to go so okay. It'll probably be fun.
And then in September I'm doing a citytrip to Prague with my mother and another to Paris with a friend. And then school starts again.
I am going to start posting my Top Fives tomorrow. I'd love to
get some more, especially movie-related (because I have been rewatching a lot of old favourites and now I have Thoughts :P). But other things are welcome too.
