2 exams to go! I have no idea how it's been so far. Apart from grammar (which I know I failed) I have no idea if I passed my exams or not. Today's went alright, I think, but it could just be an impression. It's happened before that I thought I'd pass for sure and I ended up with an 8.

Day 22: Favourite series finale

That's easy: Life on Mars. don't read if you haven't seen the show! really! )

I still have to finish AtA. It will take a few months at this rate :/

Day 23: Most annoying character

When I first read this a few weeks ago, I knew I was going to go for Sue Sylvester from Glee. It's probably my biggest unpopular fandom opinion that I don't worship the ground she walks on. But to be honest, in the final, I kind of started to like her (and before that as well, just a bit). But I still don't find her all that funny. Sorry.

I don't really have anything to say about The Lodger. James Corden was good, Matt Smith was hilarious and wore a towel, the plot was very WFT? and I'm excited for next week.

And a meme to end with:
Reply to this post, and I will tell you my favourite icon of yours. Then post this to your own journal using your own favourite icon
I love all my icons! I only have 15, so I only have the best :P But this one, and my Morgana one, and my default are the top three. So comment so I can look at some pretty. And if you want to tell me what your favourite icon of mine is without the memeposting, go for it. ;)

This meme is going to go a lot more slowly the next few weeks, jsyk.

Day 14 - Your favourite Male character

This took me a while. There are a lot of great male characters out there that I love (And its a good thing this is only about tv characters). I thought about these:

- The Doctor (But somehow, though I love him, I've always been slightly more attached to the companions)

- Malcolm Reynolds (greates antihero ever imho. You never know what he'll do next)

- Logan Echolls (because he was so fantastically snarky and mean and had some of the best lines ever on television)

- Sebastian Flyte (just because. I have always loved him and his destructiveness - talking about the miniseries version, of course. I read the book with him in my head, anyway. (if you don't know who this is, wait 'til Day 17 xD))

But eventually, this is who I went with )

Day 10: A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

IDK, if you start watching a show, don't you think you might like it?? I generally don't watch shows unless there's at least some element that makes me believe it'll be worth it.

The only thing that comes to mind is Ashes to Ashes but I talked about that already! I thought it would never live up to LoM but I'm loving it.

That was a terribly uninteresting answer :/ Sorry!

I also have a fic rec request! This is probably a long shot bt whatever, I'll try. I know that a lot of people, no matter what fandom they're in now, have a history in Harry Potter fandom.
I'm looking for any fic of epic length that you can recommend. I have this whole pile of books on my shelf that I'm going to read when I HAVE MY LIFE BACK in a few months, and I also want some fic to look forward to.
Last year, I read the Promises Unbroken Universe, and I loved it so very very much! I really feel like just disappearing into that universe for a few days.

So if anyone would happen to know a good Harry Potter fic of considerable length and epicness, link me up! Don't worry about the pairings, if it's not my thing I'll skip it. There are just too many ships to explain which ones I like. I'd prefer it if the focus is on plot rather than romance though.

ETA: it occurred to me to give my own rec :) up there I mentioned the Unbroken Universe. Link goes to Robin4's ff page. In short, its a massive AU where Sirius was the Secret Keeper, James and Lily don't die and the war goes on for over a decade after. No focus on any ship (well, some James/Lily and Sirius/OFC but it's really not a romance fic). It's quite dark, but so is canon. Really long but really good, if anyone feels like wasting a few days on it :P

Day Three: Your favourite new tv show (Aired this tv season)

This is a hard one. There aren't really any brand new shows that I love, they've all been going for a  while...
Basing this on shows that are currently for the first time on BELGIAN tv (or American or British but I can't think of any there), I'm going for Ashes to Ashes. I know it's kind of cheating, because it's been going for a while on the bbc, but it's the first time it's on tv here and the first time I've seen it.
I watched Life on Mars a while ago and loved it. So I was quite weary of a new show with basically the same plot but another lead (replacing Sam Tyler/John Simm who was amazing). And for the first few episodes, I was underwhelmed. Yes, it did have some cool stuff and some of the things that made LoM good, and of course it still had Gene Hunt (which was more than reason enough to stick with it). But I didn't like Alex all that much, and I wasn't really interested in the mystery.

I'm not sure what changed, but after a few episodes, I started liking Alex more and more and I even started to like her with Gene. And now I'm really into the plot as well! I was totally hooked to the silver screen during the S1 finale, and now I'm really impatient because I have to wait a week for every new episode.

Please no spoilers in the comments for anything past 2x2. I know some serious shit is going down in the season that's currently on bbc1, but I have managed to stay away from spoilers so far!

I finished watching Life on Mars, finally. I am way behind on this, and I'm sure the fandom has sort of died and nobody is even interested in it anymore, but I still need to make a squee post. Just for me :D It's how I deal with overflowing excitment.

So, I've been watching LoM for months now. It's actually been ages since I took that long to finish a show. I usually just marathon it. But since this is the first show in forever that I could actually persuade my mother to watch with me, we had to go at a rate of about one a week.

I've actually heard people say they stopped watching because they thought it was too dark. Which...really? I mean, it's not exactly rainbows and butterflies, I admit there is a lot of violence and political incorectness, and some dark themes. But I genuinly see it as a very fun and funny show. Gene Hunt is just comedy gold, really. XD

Ramble and spoilers  )

I only have S1 on dvd, which sucks because I'm sure I'll want to rewatch it soonish. There are also practically no decent fanvids of this out there, so I have to survive on memory XD

Yes, I'm done rambling now. This was partly because I needed to squee and didn't have anyone to annoy with it, and partly because I don't feel like studying.
