I. Ah yes, this is why I don't make long eloquent lj posts! I wait for weeks and then I feel guilty and quickly flail a bit about some tv show. So yeah, this is one of those.

II.Game of Thrones!

( spoilers for all eps but not the books beyond adaptation choices )

III.Supposed to be finishing my thesis this week but I ended up having more to do than I thought :/ And today I, uhm, had a bit of a hangover so I started too late and now I'm watching the first episode of The Walking Dead as I type this because there is no way I'm watching that show when I'm home alone in the dark.

IV. I watched New Girl and it's surprisingly good! Less ~quirky sitcom than I thought, more comedy with feelings about people failing at life. So if you're not watching because the pilot or the Zooey of it all put you off, maybe give it another chance!

I. I finished A Dance with Dragons (like two weeks ago but I forgot to post about it, OOPS). General thoughts and some hopes for what comes next:

II. I also finished Six Feet Under.
(Also; the song playing over the end of ep 5 of Luther is Breathe Me, the same song playing over the end of Six Feet Under, which I watched the day before. And if you have seen both these shows you can appreciate how traumatising my relationship with this song is now).

New Year's Resolution 1: make more posts, be it on Lj or on Tumblr :)

So yesterday Sherlock started again! I shall start with the non-spoilery stuff I liked so that if you are a huge fan you can read this and smile and move on without clicking the cut to read the spoilery stuff I hated. :)

Non-spoilery things I liked:
The way this show is filmed is stunning, and so is the music. Top quality and very enjoyable to watch!
It had some really funny moments. It also had some great exploration of Sherlock's humanity and the limits of it, and very interesting tidbits about the Holmes siblings. I really like their dynamic and their similarities.
The acting was flawless as always.

II Being Human finale. In general I liked it, though not quite as much as the last episode.

I'm missing this show already! We have to wait SO LONG for new episodes D: Who ever came up with 8-episode seasons, honestly!

I. I was making a post about Fandom March Madness and season 4 of Angel (not connected, mind, two parts of one post) and I was being all articulate and stuff. And then I watched last night's episode of Being Human and now I CAN HARDLY TYPE.

Seriously, anyone who isn't watching this show yet should really rethink that decision. It's not for everybody because it can get really dark and gruesome and yes, it's about vampires, but whatever it does it will not leave you cold. And it's also really funny! Which can be forgotten after episodes like this, but it really is! Usually.

This is a reaction post mostly consisting of random words. I haven't been this shocked and riled up after watching an episode of television since... well, probably since the S2 finale of Being Human, actually. And before that, I think I'd have to go back to Doctor Who's Waters of Mars.

This show better win ALL THE AWARDS. Seriously though, it's one of the best things on television.

This was a mess. Feel free to skip, I just needed to... let it out ;)

II.On FMM: basically, everybody I was rooting for - except for Buffy and Veronica - is losing. BOOOH. I'm a lot less interested in the whole thing already :P

* I'm home!! The coast was lovely. I didn't really do anything, which was the point because I really just needed to relax after exams. Lay on the beach, read, walked a bit, went shopping.
But omg it's hot here! Over there it's so much cooler, and there's always this lovely breeze, but over here it's 35° C and I'm boiling. I left the garden, but my room isn't much better.

* Exam results are in! 2 resits in addition to the one I already had, but overall I'm quite pleased with it. Especially because I failed at studying.

* The apartment didn't have BBC, so I couldn't watch Doctor Who. But I saw it just now (to ignore the stress of exam results coming in) ( spoilers )

I don't actually have a job this summer, nor any real plans until September (unless you consider resits plans). I'm really a bit unsure what I'll be doing all summer. I should probably call/email some people to hang out.

That tune just always gets me in the right mood for the show :)

Day 19 - Best tv show cast

Either Merlin or Leverage. Merlin because they are all pretty (I never claimed not to be superficial) and because they have chemistry with everything and everyone.
Leverage because it's just a very solid cast. They're all good and funny, they seem to get along really well in real life.

Oh, and Firefly of course! The actors all really believed in the show, even when nobody else seemed to. And not only were they all really interesting characters and had good chemistry with each others, they're still friends years later, which I think is rare.



Doctor Who: I haven't posted a reaction to Saturday's episode yet, mainly because I just didn't really have that much to say. The two-parter bored me, I have no idea what happened in the plot and I have no desire to see it again. Matt Smith was cute, though. But once again Amy didn't do anything, and it's just not the kind of story I like. And then the end of Cold Blood... ( spoilers )
And then next week we get Richard Curtis and Bill Nighy!! :DD I would say it is stupid for them to just get in a fun adventure after this episode, but... it looks really good.
I am going to be so dissapointed when it turns out Bill is only in it for 30 seconds. I LOVE HIM :)


I also have a question; does anybody know if I can make my journal and friends page show 20 entries again instead of 10? I can't seem to find how to change it. Found it!

The requisite Doctor Who reaction post has arrived! Did see it yesterday, but I haven't had the time to write my thoughts down until now.

Other fandom news: I've rewatched A Very Potter Musical this weekend, and have been listening to the soundtrack while organizing my room. I had forgotten how catchy some of those songs are! And it is still so great on rewatch. Can't wait for A Very Potter Sequel!! :D

To be honest, I had seriously lowered my expectations after Part 1. I should have had more faith. It wasn't perfect, but the plot at least didn't go wild and there were plenty of calm, sad moments.

- The trailer looks like fun. I'm going in without expectations and hopefully it'll be entertaining. I doubt it will ever be as insanely wonderful as RTD's version, though.

OMG, it's been so long since we've had new Who!! And especially something this good!

My view in short: Great episode, left me wanting more. Very dark, but we knew that. I LOVE THIS SHOW.
I'd sort of forgotten how much, lately.

( Rather long mess of thoughts - I need to get this out of my system )Now: OMG the anticipacion! I can't wait for the final!!!
This has made me confident it's going to be really good, but impossible not to get sucked in.

I do love those trailers with all that ~drama~. But in this case, it's probably justified...
