muneca_bravaI like end-of-the-year lists so I expect this is the first of more to come. I'll definitely make a personal Best Of 2011 later, like I did last year.
1. Your main fandom of the year?
I started the year being really into Buffy the Vampire Slayer and later Angel, but just as quickly got over it. It was a short but passionate affair :D
Then The Social Network came and TOOK OVER EVERYTHING. I almost forgot, but those were some intense months.
From June onwards, the most consistent and most 'fandom-y' has been A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones.
2. Your favourite films watched this year?
I have been terrible at seeing films in the cinema, and pretty much the only thing I LOVED that came out this year and I got to see was Black Swan... But I'll make a list of movies I saw and loved in the other post.
3. Your favourite book(s) read this year
A Song of Ice and Fire 1-4 and Wolf Hall are the big ones that blew me away!
4. Your greatest musical discovery
Florence and The Machine, because I only started listening to her in May though it seems much longer ago.
5. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Loca People - Sak Noel (which is TERRIBLE and not something I like but it was everywhere this summer so I'm pretty sure it'll always remind me of this particular summer)
and probably Barricades by Stars even though it's an older song, but it go me to start writing again so that was pretty important.
6. Your favourite TV show(s) of the year?
Being Human, Leverage, Parks and Recreation, Revenge
(notice how DW isn't there? )
7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Glee and How I Met Your Mother. And the second half of S6 of Doctor Who.
7. Your tv boyfriend(s) of the year?
hm. Neal Caffrey, Ben Wyatt, Freddie Lyon
8. Your tv girlfriend(s) of the year
Sansa Stark, Leslie Knope, Katherine Pierce, Bel Rowley, Sophie Deveraux, Nina Pickering, etc
9. Biggest tv squee moment(s) of the year
Luther S1 (which I only watched this year): "kiss me. kill me. do something." / they're not friends but they can go for coffee
(those two made me really emotional for some reason)
Parks and Recreation: "let's just say screw it" / saving the campaign
Leverage: Parker/Hardison development, OT5 goodness
There were lots of other great moments but 'squee' implies happy and those are ones where I can remember actually making noises at my tv.
10. The most missed of your old fandoms
Harry Potter, as a general rule. Lately I got nostalgic for Doctor/Rose and I've been reading some old fic.
11. The fandom/show you haven't tried but want to
The Borgias when I have better historical background. Friday Night Lights, Dexter, maybe Battlestar Galactica (I've tried it before and gave up but I might start again)
12. Your biggest anticipation for the new year;
New Being Human! New Shameless! New Skins! New Vampire Diaries! New White Collar! Finally reading A Dance with Dragons!
I'll already wish you all a very happy New Year. I'm going to the seaside for the evening with some friends,we'll have a party and watch the fireworks and go back in the morning. :)
