Review PotD

So I've seen Planet of the Dead and been thinking rather a lot about the whole prophecy thing. So I wrote some thoughts down, to get it out of my system. Then I thought, I might as well post it on Lj, makes it look more professional.

Only problem is, I've never actually posted anything here. So I'm now wondering how the hell I'm supposed to make a cut, and link things, and stuff like that. But hey, there's a first time for everything.

 

The episode in general:

I liked it. I certainly liked it a LOT more then The Next Doctor, which I thought was pretty boring. This one was actually rather entertaining, and fun. Not too much angst, pretty Tennant, good other characters,... Basically the perfect one-off episode.


Pretty, no?

I sort of liked Christina. I think she would become annoying as a regular companion, and the whole "OMG, we are perfect for eachother" idea was *very* obvious and did start to annoy me after a while. Oh, and I can't believe The Doctor would let her get away on a flying bus, which isn't conspicious AT ALL, right? :p
But generally, I sort of liked her. She was a lot better than Astrid, and didn't hero-worship him too much. I do like it when people put him in his place. I think RTD would have brought her back if he could, but I don't know about Moffat.

And I LOVED Malcolm. I mean, he was soo OTT, but it worked. I loved him being all *squee! It's the Doctor! And he's actually talking to me!*
I didn't actually know Lee Evans, but he looks like a really funny guy. :D

I think the setting was pretty. Was it really necessary to go to Dubai? Maybe not, but it did look more like an alien planet than anything else so far.


The fly-people were absolutely ridiculous. But I don't mean that in a bad way. I love that this show doesn't even try to disguise the fact that it's just people with masks on. The only thing that annoyed me was the ear-plugs. For flies? really?  But I have the general rule never to think twice about anything plot-related. Ever. Not on this show. And definately not with an RTD-ep.

So, anyway I started this to talk about the prophecy.It(s annoying me a great deal that I've been thinking about it for days now, and reading theories, and we won't know anything for 7 MONTHS! 8, if we have to wait for the last one.

Your song is ending: Obvious, I think.Not that I want to think about that. NOTHING IS CHANGING!! But is is the same thing the Ood said. I was wondering what that was supposed to refer to, and apparently RTD didn't really know either. But it sounded so cool he had to use it again :p

It is returning through the dark: Don't have a clue. Some people seem to think it's Gallifrey. I don't think so, but I just don't know. Though it will probably turn out to be a completely useless sentence, which doesn't make sense, even after the episode.

He will knock four times: Most of fandom, myself included, shouted THE MASTER at the tv at this point. (Or is that just me? I'm always shouting at the tv. Especially with this show. )
But now, I've heard the podcast, and DT and Julie Gardner say that it's "not what we think it is".They literally say "if you think you know what it is, it isn't that." Which is strange, because we do know that he is coming back.

So I'm still hoping for some sort of dreamworld in the final.Mainly because that would explain some of the stranger theories, but mainly because that way, Rose could come back without actually, you know, coming back.

All I know is I'm going to have to find something to keep me busy for 7 months, because the anticipation is already killing me. And I will stock up on kleenex by then as well. Because they have all made it very clear there will be no more happy moments this year. And the end of the final will probably kill me. NOT THAT ANYONE IS LEAVING.
see, that's how I keep going these days.


So, that was my reaction. It is really very annoying that I don't have anyone I can ramble to about all this, because no-one I know actually watches DW. It is so unknown 'round here :'( Which is why I result to writing these ramblings, which I'm sure don't make any sense at all. And since I have an journal over here, I might as well post it. If anyone is reading this and sees some shocking language mistakes, sorry. Not English, you know.
