I. Ah yes, this is why I don't make long eloquent lj posts! I wait for weeks and then I feel guilty and quickly flail a bit about some tv show. So yeah, this is one of those.

II.Game of Thrones!

spoilers for all eps but not the books beyond adaptation choices )

III.Supposed to be finishing my thesis this week but I ended up having more to do than I thought :/ And today I, uhm, had a bit of a hangover so I started too late and now I'm watching the first episode of The Walking Dead as I type this because there is no way I'm watching that show when I'm home alone in the dark.

IV. I watched New Girl and it's surprisingly good! Less ~quirky sitcom than I thought, more comedy with feelings about people failing at life. So if you're not watching because the pilot or the Zooey of it all put you off, maybe give it another chance!

I. F+TM was great! She was wearing the greatest dress thing with giant sleeves, I kind of want it. Her voice was really strong, she played songs from both albums and she was really cute onstage, actually :) So yeah, that was a good night. Afterwards we went to this small cafe in Brussels in a tiny alley which was strangely nice. :)

II. So Game of Thrones came back! :D I only watched the first episode because I don't want to not have an episode next week. I refer to characterizations in the books but any actual spoilers are under the handy new spoiler cut. (lj actually made a good improvement?)

Power is power )

III. I feel like I have to add this to combine points I and II:

I. Obligatory YAY FANDOM MARCH MADNESS IS COMING post!

I'm not sure who I'll be backing this year, I'll see how the first rounds go. As long as it's a lady I'm probably okay. Or if we have to have a dude, not Sherlock or Sheldon or Eleven. And that basically comes down to PLEASE LET IT BE A LADY again because those are probably the top three.
Last year I campaigned for Veronica Mars, who did REALLY WELL but I've a feeling this isn't her year. I shall see who takes the lead for Game of Thrones - I doubt it'll be Sansa :/ Maybe Dany though? Or Arya. I'll even support Jaime or Tyrion. There seems to be a pretty big campaign going fo Leslie Knope and I'm willing to go with that too :)

I'm so excited!!

II. I marathoned Cougar Town and I LOVE IT. It's filled the sitcoms-about-friends-hanging-out hole left by HIMYM. It is so much more awesome than that show that I'm kind of pissed I stuck with it for so long when I could have been watching this.

It does make me crave red wine a lot.
And it gives me waaaaaaaaay too many feelings for a silly sitcom. Seriously. They all just love each other so much :'( I want a cul-de-sac crew of my own.

III. I'm trying to force myself to get it together and be productive so I made a bunch of rules - I'm not checking my Tumblr dash all the time, just my favourite blogs, I'm not reading fanfic, etc. It's not working as well as it could (see watching the whole of Cougar Town) but I AM reading more so that's always a plus. I always read a biography-type book and a novel at the same time and right now it's Young Romantics by Daisy Hay - which is honestly a bit disappointing because she keeps discussing boring people instead of lolling at Byron which surely is the main point of the Romantics. I'm also struggling through Great Expectations because I felt like giving Dickens another chance. I would love this book if it was about Miss Havisham and Estella (mainly Estella) and Pip was a side character, but I do not care about his money issues and all the whacky people he meets. Shut up, Pip.

IV. NEW GOT SEASON 2 TRAILER, WHOOOOOO!. I am SO EXCITED about this season!! But seriously, how many trailers can they possibly release?

I. I finished A Dance with Dragons (like two weeks ago but I forgot to post about it, OOPS). General thoughts and some hopes for what comes next:
it rhymes with bloody traumatising )

II. I also finished Six Feet Under.
(Also; the song playing over the end of ep 5 of Luther is Breathe Me, the same song playing over the end of Six Feet Under, which I watched the day before. And if you have seen both these shows you can appreciate how traumatising my relationship with this song is now).

Onto the Thoughts on SFU
unsurprisingly, I cried )

Hi! Anyone still there? :P My internet has been fixed, finally. I left it broken because I hoped not having internet access might mean I'd be able to study better. That did not work.
I don't know if I'll be posting again this week - it's kind of a busy one - (but I'll be commenting!) so I'll already tell you I won't be here next week either because I am going to Mallorca. I have never actually done the kind of vacation before where you don't do anything but lie by a pool/the sea. I expect I'll get a lot of reading done, which is what I'm most looking forward tbh :P

Tv-wise, I don't actually have anything to say on Doctor Who. This week's episode was entirely forgettable and the one before that was everything that has been wrong with this season packed into 45 minutes.

I watched The Hour and I recommend it to everyone! It's very enjoyable and pretty. I didn't like the ~spy plot too much but the characters and actors were all perfect. I've also made myself a new default icon, which feels weird because I had Nina for such a long time, but I expect I'll get used to Bel :)

Some other reactions;
- I am halfway through A Feast for Crows but I didn't post my reaction to A Storm of Swords yet, and I had many reactions. So many they nearly gave me a heart attack. THAT BOOK IS NOT HEALTHY.

spoilers and I mean BIG ONES go away if you have not read! )

- I am currently watching the third season of Six Feet Under. I can't believe I resisted watching this show for so long :O I somehow always thought it'd be boring. I'M SORRY I UNDERESTIMATED YOU. On the other hand, I don't know if I'd appreciated it this much if I'd have watched it a few years ago when it was on tv.
spoilers for S1 and 2 and the first ep of S3 )

I.My laptop has been fixed! I wish I could say this means I am back, but I'm leaving again tomorrow :P. I'm going to the Summerfilmcollege, where we spend a whole week in a cinema going to lectures and seeing a LOT of films, from 9 am to about midnight. I participated two years ago and it was one of the best times of my life, so I'm really looking forward to doing it again! It's in Antwerp, and a friend of mine is letting me stay at her student's room...thing for the week (she isn't there, she's at home with her parents). It will be exhausting but fun. :D

I'm not taking my laptop though, because I won't have time to us it anyway. So it's a week without internet for me. Hopefully nothing too exciting happens while I'm gone.

II. I did quite a lot of reading this last week and I finished A Clash of Kings!
SPOILERS! Don't click if you haven't read it/have only seen the show )

Hey guys! I'm back from London (have been for 2 days). It was AMAZING. Much Ado about Nothing was great and Tennant and Tate were sublime as expected. DT especially was HILARIOUS. And has a serious talent for slapstick! Tyhe rest of the trip was fun as well (slightly too many museums though).

My laptop has broken down and I'm typing this on my mum's computer so I have to keep it short before she comes to read over my shoulder :P. Hopefully it'l be fixed soon because I am a bit at a loss without the internet. Today was okay as I've just been reading A Clash of Kings all day (is it me or is this one slightly more...slow-moving than GoT? I'm halfway through and not all that much has happened yet, it seems). So yeah. I won't be around much until it's fixed - maybe tomorrow, maybe longer, we will see!

II. I finished Game of Thrones (the novel)! LOVED IT! I'll pick up A Clash of Kings on Friday. I think I'll watch the show when I've finished the books though. Slightly too attached to the versions in my head at this point, even though some of my mental images of the characters were heavily influenced by pictures I'd failed to avoid.

III.I'm still doing the Top Five meme, but this has been going around again and more memes are always welcome:
Give me a fandom and I will post my unpopular opinions about it!
